The state wants to hand nearly twenty thousand acres, about two miles north of town, over to its own development agency for what the paperwork calls the Houston Industrial Park.

Here's the update that matters. The comment window is closing. The state's land office takes written comments until five p.m. on Wednesday, August nineteenth, online, by email, or by mail.

And there's a catch most people miss. Under the state's own rules, only the folks who get a written comment in on time keep the right to appeal the final decision later. Stay quiet now, and you're out of the conversation for good.
