your friday night just changed

Anchorage's Summer Night Market is back for the season, but if you go looking at Town Square, you'll find a construction fence instead.

The Anchorage Summer Night Market is back, but it's got a new address this season.

Town Square Park is under renovation right now, so the market had to move. It's now set up on F Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, right in the center of downtown Anchorage. The first market of the season already ran last Friday.

The format is the same as always: local vendors, food trucks, live music, a kids zone, and a beer garden. What keeps it worth going back to is the rotating vendor lineup. The organizers bring in a fresh mix every week, so you're not seeing the same booths each time.

The goal, according to the organizer, is to reflect the actual diversity of Anchorage. And they're selective about who gets a spot to make that happen.

It's free to get in. Hours are five-thirty to eight-thirty each Friday evening. The next market is June nineteenth, and it continues on a rotating schedule through the summer after that.

If you've got kids, the zone is set up to keep them busy while the rest of you do the rounds. If you haven't been since it was at Town Square, it's worth checking out even with the new location. Same energy, different block.
