Alaska lawmakers just locked in this year's PFD compromise and most folks haven't seen the final number yet.

And the answer is $1,200.

Lawmakers landed on a $1,000 PFD plus a $200 energy relief check. The deal came out of conference committee on Sunday. It still has to clear the House and Senate before the session wraps Wednesday.

The PFD piece alone will cost the state about $674 million. The energy relief adds another $31 million on top.

The House had pushed for the full statutory $3,800 dividend earlier in the session. The Senate held the line at $1,000. The energy relief number bumped from $150 to $200 in the final hours.

For Anchorage, the Valley, and Fairbanks households planning around back-to-school costs or fall heating bills, this is the number to actually pencil into your budget.
