Alaska veterans needing serious addiction and trauma treatment have had to fly to the Lower 48 to get it, and that's about to change. Hope Valley Health and Wellness launches April 20 in Wasilla with residential care, detox, and long-term recovery support built specifically for veterans and first responders.

Veterans have access to one of the best homebuying programs in the country through the VA loan, zero down, no PMI, and some of the lowest rates out there. But when you're fighting addiction or untreated trauma, a mortgage application isn't even on the radar. Getting stable first is what unlocks everything else.

The program is designed to treat the trauma underneath the substance use, not just the symptoms on the surface. Residents move through detox, then into residential care, and get connected to sober living and ongoing support on the other end. The Mat-Su has one of the largest veteran populations in the state, with families connected to military bases spread across Palmer, Wasilla, and Big Lake.
