UIC expands construction reach

UIC has launched IGLU Construction, a new road accessible vertical construction company aimed at expanding its building capabilities across Alaska.

From Kenai to Fairbanks, Iglu Construction is stepping in to expand vertical construction.

UIC has launched a new road accessible vertical construction company called IGLU Construction, expanding their footprint beyond heavy civil work and into vertical building projects across Alaska.

IGLU is designed to focus on projects that can be reached by road, filling a gap between rural construction and urban development. This gives UIC more flexibility in how and where it builds.

The company says IGLU will support commercial, industrial, and community focused projects. It also creates another pathway for Alaska Native employment and training in the construction trades.

Vertical construction has been a growing need in Alaska’s population centers.

This positions UIC to compete for more year round work.
