And the Pentagon just put Alaska at the front of the line.

The Marine Corps just launched something called Campaign Alaska. It's a permanent rotation of Marines into our state for arctic training and operations. This is the first time the Marines have had this kind of footing in Alaska.

The setup has two pieces. The first is the Marine Rotational Force, which runs regular training rotations through bases across the state. The second is a small full time team based out of JBER for ongoing arctic operations.

The Marines will tie into existing exercises like Arctic Edge at Eielson and Red Flag training. By 2027 the full time team kicks in for year round Marine presence.

For Anchorage, Eagle River, North Pole, and Fairbanks, the practical read is more military spending, more housing demand near the bases, and more travel through the state.
