Daily Alaska staff · March 27, 2026 · Mat-SuGreat Harvest Bread just opened in Wasilla on March 13, and the place ran out of bread by 1:30 p.m. on day one.
The new shop is at 2301 E. Sun Mountain Avenue, and it’s setting up as a go-to stop for breakfast and lunch in the Valley. Now Wasilla has a new stop for bread, sandwiches, and baked goods made from Montana wheat that gets milled on site. For those living in the valley, this is one less reason to drive all the way to Anchorage for some fresh bread.
Owner Kelly Larson started this franchise process back in 2019, then got smacked by COVID and the usual Alaska renovation chaos. Larson and the crew weren’t expecting expecting to sell out their stock so quickly on opening day.
That is not fake grand-opening hype. That is Mat-Su showing up hungry.
