settlers bay is back

Settlers Bay Lodge on Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla just reopened after spending the entire winter rebuilding from windstorm damage.

Settlers Bay Lodge is finally serving dinner again.

If you've driven past it on Knik Goose Bay Road the last few months, you probably already know the place got hammered in that windstorm back in the fall. We're talking roof peeled, windows out, dining room soaked. They've been closed all winter while the owners fought with insurance and rebuilt basically everything behind the bar.

The kitchen reopened recently for guests to enjoy again.

Same menu people drive out there for, and prime rib night is back. The golf course side is taking reservations for the summer league again too.

Stuff like this matters in the Valley because we don't have that many sit-down restaurants that aren't a chain. Every time we lose one for a whole season it's a real hole. If you've been looking for an excuse to drive out past Wasilla this weekend, there it is.
