Rage City Vintage shuts down
Rage City Vintage, a well-known Anchorage vintage clothing shop, has closed after reporting a 40 percent drop in sales during a sluggish year for small retailers.

Anchorage just lost one of its coolest shops.
Rage City Vintage shut down after a tough year, and the drop hit harder than anyone expected. Sales slid almost 40 percent, and the foot traffic never bounced back. For a store built on community events and regulars, that slowdown was brutal.
Small retailers across town have been fighting the same wall. Higher costs, softer spending, and fewer people browsing Midtown and downtown shops have made every month a grind. Rage City held on as long as it could, but the math finally stopped working.
The closure leaves a gap in Anchorage’s vintage scene. It also says a lot about how fragile independent retail feels right now, especially for spaces that depend on culture as much as sales.
Tough loss for a shop that gave the city real character.
