People Mover Shakeup

Anchorage People Mover is rolling out major service changes starting January 22, including route realignments and increased frequency on key lines.

People Mover is rolling out service changes starting January 22, and regular riders will definitely notice the difference.

A new Route 51 will connect Centennial Village directly to the Muldoon Transit Hub, filling a gap that’s existed for years.

Routes 85 and 91 are being merged to streamline service in South Anchorage and cut down on confusing overlaps.

Route 92 is getting more frequent trips plus new stops, which matters for commuters who rely on timing more than convenience.

The goal is better reliability without expanding the overall system footprint.

For daily riders, this could mean shorter waits and fewer transfers if the schedules actually hold.

For occasional riders, it may take a few weeks of frustration before the new map makes sense.

January in Anchorage isn’t exactly the easiest time to relearn transit.
