Downtown Fairbanks Gets $50K Boost

Fairbanks is paying to fix up downtown.

The city is offering up to $50,000 per project to upgrade storefronts in the downtown core. The money can be used to improve building exteriors between 1st and 10th Avenue, from Cowles Street to Noble Street.

That means new facades, cleaner fronts, and long overdue curb appeal in the heart of Fairbanks. Business owners have until April 1 to apply, so the clock is already ticking.

If multiple buildings jump in, downtown could look very different by summer. And when the core looks better, more people walk it, shop it, and stick around longer.
