bagels are back downtown

Bagels are back in downtown Anchorage, and the first batch sold out before lunch.

Daily Alaska staff · July 23, 2026 · Anchorage

And on opening day, they sold out before lunch.

A new little coffee and bagel shop called Little Rituals just opened downtown, right off Second Avenue, just ahead of the Fourth of July weekend. It slid into the old Cafe Clash space, which got gutted and completely redone before the doors opened.

If the name behind it rings a bell, it should. The owner used to run the 907 Bagel truck, and when that closed back in 2024, people kept asking where they could get those bagels again.

Now they're back, and folks clearly missed them. The shop sold out of bagels by noon on its very first day, and that kind of rush tells you people were ready for this one.

It's a woman-owned spot, and they're leaning local, with bagels from Wooden Spoons and coffee from Chugach Coffee Roasters. That's Anchorage money staying in Anchorage.

For now it's a daytime place, but they've got plans. Think evening hours with beer and wine, live music, paint nights, and karaoke, plus a patio out front once the weather plays along.

It's a small thing, sure. But a gutted downtown corner turning into a packed, buzzing bagel shop is exactly the kind of comeback this part of town's been waiting for. Downtown could use more corners like it.
