Pike's Lodge in Fairbanks just built Alaska's first real salt cave.

The new salt cave just got finished at Pike's Waterfront Lodge on Hoselton Road. Designed by a doctor, an a early pioneers of salt cave therapy in the U.S., it's the first true halotherapy room in the state.

The whole thing is part of a bigger wellness build at Pike's. Owner Jay Ramras is turning the property into a wellness destination for both visitors and Fairbanks locals. Salt caves are designed to support breathing, relaxation, and stress relief through controlled exposure to dry salt air.

The full wellness center opens in September. The salt cave itself is finished and ready. For anyone who's driven past Pike's on the way to the airport and wondered what's going on with all the construction, this is the answer.
