Donlin Gold just locked in a long-awaited gas supply agreement tied to the Alaska LNG pipeline, linking two of the state’s biggest megaprojects for the first time. This isn’t just about powering a mine. It’s about building energy infrastructure into a part of Alaska that’s never had it at scale.
The deal connects the massive Donlin gold project in the Southwest region to future natural gas flowing across the state. That means lower-cost power for operations and the groundwork for pipelines, roads, and long-term development in Southwest Alaska. Once gas shows up, everything around it starts to change.
This agreement has been talked about for years, and now it’s real.
It moves Donlin closer to construction and gives the LNG pipeline another anchor customer with serious demand.
